Adding a WordPress SSL Certificate is a must for any blog, e-commerce or business site
In todays World security is important, so how do we go about adding that extra layer of security to our WordPress sites.
With the ever present danger of hackers trying to steal information or disrupt services, it is vital that we protect our websites as best we can.
This tutorial will assume you have a WordPress website stored on web hosting platform.
So to begin we will need to login to our Control Panel.
Next once we have logged in we need to find “Lets Encrypt SSL”
Once we get into the Lets Encrypt SSL Screen, we now need to issue the certificate to the domain.
Now click on the “+ Issue” link in the actions section.
Were going to want to issue this SSL Certificate for everything so we need to make sure everything is checked, Then click on the “Issue Button”
Once this is done you should see a message like so:
Congratulations… Your WordPress SSL Certificate is now active.
Next though we need to tell WordPress to use the SSL Certificate. To do this we need to log into WordPress.
Then goto “Settings > General“.
In here you will need to change your URL from http: to https:
And that is it… You have now added a SSL certificate to WordPress.
