Education Quality Assurance Framework
EQAF Dashboard is a web-based quality assurance platform that gives education ministries and school inspectors a single, structured view of school performance across an entire jurisdiction.
EQAF Dashboard is a web-based quality assurance platform built for the Barbados Ministry of Education, giving the Ministry, school inspectors, and senior leaders a single, structured view of school performance across every parish on the island. It replaces the patchwork of spreadsheets, paper rubrics, and manual report compilations that quality assurance teams have historically relied on, and turns assessment into a guided, auditable process.
At its heart, the system models the real-world inspection cycle: schools are organised by parish, assessors complete structured reports against configurable domain categories, and only fully reviewed and approved reports feed into a school's calculated rating. The result is a dashboard where leadership can see, at a glance, which schools are thriving, which need support, and where the gaps are across the wider system.
Key objectives
- Standardise assessment across every school using a configurable framework of domain categories, domains, and weighted question groups — so two assessors visiting two schools are measuring the same things in the same way.
- Guide assessors through inspections with a step-by-step report wizard covering guidance, evidence, commentary, and scoring, reducing training overhead and improving the consistency of submitted reports.
- Enforce a clear approval workflow — Submitted, Reviewing, Complete, or Rejected — so that ratings are only ever calculated from reports that have been formally reviewed and signed off.
- Surface performance at every level — individual school, parish, and ministry-wide — through dashboards, progression charts, and category breakdowns that highlight trends over time, not just point-in-time snapshots.
- Produce share-ready outputs including downloadable PDF reports for school leadership and exportable framework definitions for ministry-level review and version control.
Highlights
- A configurable rating engine with adjustable thresholds (Support Needed, Secure, Strong) and automatic score normalisation across categories, so the framework can evolve without breaking historical comparisons.
- Role-based access for ministry administrators, assessors, and school users, with an audited admin impersonation feature for support and troubleshooting.
- Containerised deployment behind an automatically managed TLS reverse proxy, with continuous deployment from the main branch and zero-downtime updates that leave the database and certificates untouched between releases.
